About Leslie Kent

As a Certified Educational Planner, Leslie has met the highest level of professional standards for college admissions counselors and educational consultants. Earning this designation means that Leslie passed a comprehensive examination, visited over 300 campuses, and demonstrated professional leadership. Leslie also earned a certificate in college counseling from UCLA and continues to build her professional skills by attending ongoing training in college application trends. Leslie has also served on the faculty of the Independent Educational Consultants' Summer Institute, a training seminar for those entering the college counseling profession. In addition, she serves on the advisory board for the University of California-Irvine Independent Educational Consulting Certificate Program. A leader in her profession, Leslie focuses on building her skills to better serve her students.

With 30 years' experience as principal, director of instruction and English teacher, Leslie Kent knows Fairfax County Public Schools and their students well. Twice nominated as Principal of the Year, she is known for building strong relationships with families. Her interest in adolescent development and educational excellence form a strong foundation for the college planning services she offers. Leslie has proven organizational skills and demonstrated abilities to work with students and their families. She continues to visit college campuses so that she has first-hand knowledge of the schools she recommends. Leslie volunteers in our public schools and in the community and frequently makes presentations for parents in both Fairfax and Loudoun Counties.

Most importantly, as the parent of a college graduate, Leslie understands the feelings and situations families encounter during this exciting period in a student's educational career.
